Eligibility Requirements
Because credit unions are
classified as cooperatives, there are certain eligibility
requirements that must be met. Below you will find a brief list of requirements
organizations, businesses, and groups must meet in order to become part of
Alpena
Alcona Area Credit Union. If you do not meet any of the
requirements listed below, call
our Alpena office to find out how
to become eligible. Credit Union membership
is easy!
Membership Requirements

All federal, state and local
government employees
-
Any students of Alpena Public
Schools, Alcona Community Schools, or Alpena
Community College, Altanta Community Schools
-
Persons related by blood or
marriage, or residing with a current credit union member
-
Any person over the age of 55 who
receives a retirement annuity, social security,
or similar retirement payment from private or government sources, and lives in or
belongs to a retirement organization located in the county, or in a county contiguous
to the county where the credit union's main office is located
-
Employees or members of employer
groups located within 25 miles of the credit
unions main office at 1100 S. Bagley St., Alpena, or one of our branch offices at
111 S. Church St., Lincoln, or 11610 U.S. 23 South, Ossineke.

Employer groups, organizations, and
associations located in Montmorency
County that have provided a written request for credit union service and have
received approval from the credit union Board of Directors
Along with our core membership
requirements, the credit union also serves over 400
Select Employee Groups
and over 100 Organizational Groups in Northeast Michigan.
