Chief Financial Officer Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union, located on beautiful Lake Huron in Northeast Lower Michigan with over $233 million in assets has an excellent opportunity for the newly created position of Chief Financial Officer.

This individual will be an integral part of the Credit Union Leadership Team and will assume the role of leading the organization’s financial and regulatory reporting function in addition to the Accounting Department. Major responsibilities include asset liability management analysis, liquidity management, managing the credit union’s investment portfolio, expense control and budgeting, coordinating the internal and external auditing functions. Will work closely with the credit union’s Internal Auditor on audit function. The individual selected will have CUSO experience in order to participate in the credit union’s involvement in a successful mortgage CUSO-Neighborhood Mortgage Solutions LLC.

Exceptional leadership, financial management, budgeting and strategic planning skills are paramount in this position.

This individual will lead areas as related to strategic planning, asset liability management and product/service pricing.

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field required. Minimum two years of finance and/or accounting experience in a financial institution preferred.

Collector Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union, is a progressive multi-branch Credit Union that is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a full-time Collector position in our Alpena Main office.

Qualifications include:

• Ability to obtain payment from members with past due accounts
• Ability to research and solve payment discrepancies
• Strong level of initiative
• Excellent membership service and business practices
• Ability to work independently

Job Duties/Responsibilities (list is NOT all inclusive):

• Counseling members in order to development repayment plans
• Making outbound credit collection calls
• Conduct analysis on member accounts
• Preparation of weekly/monthly/quarterly reports
• Preparation of affidavits, levies and garnishments
• Some evening and weekend hours
• Recovery of loan loss accounts/bad checks
• Working with attorneys and/or law enforcement – appear in court

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of strong collection experience a requirement
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail
• Supervisory skills preferred
