Under no circumstances will we authorize a business to charge a member’s account without a member’s expressed consent, and we will not sell information to telemarketing firms.

Categories of Information That We Collect
The credit union collects nonpublic information about you from the following sources:

• Information we receive from you on applications or other forms, such as, your name, address, social security number, assets, and income.
• Information about your transactions with the credit union, our affiliates, or others, such as, account balance, account activity, parties to transactions, credit card usage, payment history, and deposit history.
• Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency, such as your credit worthiness and credit history.
• From verification of information you provide on applications and other forms, such as, information from current or past employers, other financial institutions and other sources listed on the application.
• Information collected through an internet “cookie” (an information collecting device from a web server).

Nonpublic personal information is information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. Nonpublic personal information does not include information that is available from public sources, such as, telephone directories or government records.

The credit union may disclose information we collect, as described above, to service providers and companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. • Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PIN’s (personal identification numbers) and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your ATM, debit, or credit card that can provide free access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
• Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you, explains the call is on behalf of the credit union, and asks for your account number, you should beware. Official credit union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
• Keep your information with us current. As a member of our credit union, you will always have the opportunity to review your information and make necessary changes to ensure our records are complete and accurate.

Loan Applications: Our website will be checked every day we are open for lobby business. The loan department will treat an application received via our web site the same as an application taken by phone, mail, or in person and it will be processed as quickly as possible. When you submit a loan application through our website your information is protected both on-line and off-line. You may be contacted if further information is necessary to process your application.

E-mail: Please keep in mind messages you send to us by internet e-mail may not be secure. Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union cannot guarantee the security of internet e-mail messages. Do not send us any confidential or personal information by internet e-mail. Unless specified, appropriate follow-up to an e-mail will be determined by the nature of the question, comment, or complaint.
