Duties:

Role:

A Mortgage Processor understands, communicates, and works to achieve and follow the Credit Union mission and member promise statements through the compilation and preparation of mortgage loan closing documentation.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

		Processes loan file documentation prior to close. Prepares closing documents. Records and maintains HELOC and mortgage loan information on computer system and calculates loan interest and principal payments as well as closing costs.
		Reviews approved loans to determine conditions that must be met prior to closing. Communicates with members, loan originators, and vendors to aide in the preparation of mortgage loan closing documentation, requests specified and required documents, and answers questions regarding closing requirements.
		Verifies accuracy and consistency of specifications on mortgage documentation, including but not limited to title abstracts, insurance forms, and other required documents.
		Gathers and organizes all documents for delivery to title company or mortgage loan originator for closing. Ensures documents are complete and meet regulatory and credit union standards.
		Performs other job related duties as assigned.

1.	Produce accurate, complete, and compliant mortgage loan documentation, files, and reports within the established deadlines.
2.	Maintain complete and well-organized files and records.
3.	Resolve member and internal inquiries in a professional, timely and accurate manner, communicating the resolution to affected parties.
4.	Provide informed and accurate service and support to all members, employees, and third-party vendors and associates by responding to messages, correspondence, or other communications in a timely and professional manner.
5.	Follow established policies and procedures and maintain compliance with mortgage lending regulations through participation in developing procedures for mortgage loan operations and staying current on changes in mortgage regulations, policies and industry practices.
6.	Actively advise members and/or employees on products, services, and mortgage processes to achieve or exceed 100% of established individual, department, and credit union strategic performance goals.
7.	Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with credit union policies, procedures, and mortgage industry trends and best practices including associated government rules and regulations.

Additional Desired Attributes:

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners. Demonstrates carefulness about detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks. Talks to others to convey information effectively.
