Duties:
Role:
Focus on providing confident and experienced assistance delivering high-quality, relationship focused financial services to both members and prospective members. This position is responsible for guiding individuals through complex Credit Union offerings while building strong fiduciary relationships grounded in trust, accuracy, and long-term financial well-being. A full spectrum knowledge of more complex Credit Union services such as IRAs, certificates of deposit, electronic and home banking solutions is necessary. The expectation of this role is to always act in the best interests of members, demonstrating integrity, discretion, and a strong commitment to ethical financial guidance - especially when supporting sensitive or long-term financial decisions. A critical aspect of this position is fostering and maintaining fiduciary relationships, with respect to both members and our key strategic partners Legal Karma and CU Trust. The specialist must confidently introduce, explain, and facilitate these services, helping members understand how trust services, estate planning, and legal support can enhance their financial security and planning. Acting as a liaison, the specialist ensures a seamless experience when members engage with partner services. Works to achieve the Credit Union's mission and member promise statements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
| Assists members with opening and closing accounts, answers questions about products and services and resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve. Assists other team members with technical problems and questions relating to complicated products and regulations. Refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor, along with their recommendations. Identifies cross-sale opportunities and cross-sells services to members. | ||
| Acts as liaison between members and various organizations and departments. | ||
| Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared. Maintains member account information on computer system. | ||
| Peforms other job related duties as assigned. | ||
| Serves as a subject matter resource for CU Trust and Legal Karma offerings; educate member, facilitate referrals, and maintain important key strategic partnerships. |
Requirements:
Performance Measurements:
| 1. | Provide informed, prompt, and accurate service to all members and team members. |
| 2. | Open all individual and specialty accounts, certificates of deposit, and other Credit Union products or services in accordance with AAACU policies and procedures, ensuring all related forms and documents are completed and filed/scanned in a timely manner. |
| 3. | Gather information about the member to create financial wellness solutions including basic lending application information and deposit services. |
| 4. | Actively advise members on products and services to help achieve or exceed 100% of Credit Union strategic goals. |
| 5. | Carry out assigned duties with minimal errors according to AAACU policy and procedures. |
| 6. | Resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely manner, communicating the resolution to affected parties. |
| 7. | Ensure compliance with all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations. |
| 8. | Maintain a professional work environment. |
Additional Desired Attributes:
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience One year to three years of significant fiduciary or related experience.
Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Other Skills Working knowledge of regulations relating to all Credit Union deposit products (Reg E, Reg CC, Reg D, Truth-in-Savings Act).
Able to operate a 10-key calculator, typewriter, and computer keyboard.
