Salary:$20.77 up to $31.16
Days:Monday through Friday
Hours:40 hours per week

Duties:

Role:
A Compliance Specialist works to achieve the Credit Union's mission and member promise statements. A Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting the Director of Compliance in ensuring that the Credit Union operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Review and appraise the soundness, adequacy, and effectiveness of internal policies, procedures, and controls. Responsible for assisting the Credit Union with provisions of security and compliance programs set for the Credit Union. Works closely with other members of the Compliance team, departments, and branches to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Keep up-to-date with federal and state laws and regulations that apply to credit unions and ensure the credit union is in compliance.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Assists in updating and reviewing policies and procedures based on regulatory changes, internal audits, and examinations by regulatory agencies. Assists with investigations of fraudulent activity.

Perform compliance risk assessments and develop risk management strategies. Prepare and submit regulatory and internal reports.

Provide support to Compliance and Internal Audit for regulatory examinations and audits. Respond to regulatory inquires and requests for information.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Recommend changes to policies and procedures to improve compliance and operational efficiency

Performance Measurements:

1. Knowledge of applicable State and Federal laws and regulations is developed, maintained, and kept current.

2. Appropriate changes to policies and procedures are made and communicated with departments and branches. Deadlines are met.

3. Internal compliance reviews are conducted, results analyzed and reported in a timely manner. Changes to controls or mitigations are completed within the timelines identified by management.

4. Required reports are prepared and delivered in an accurate and timely manner.

5. Works cooperatively with all staff to implement and maintain the highest level of conformance to regulatory, compliance, and security requirements.

Requirements:

Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry for compliance or risk.

Interpersonal Skills Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a confidential nature.
