Job Openings: Payments Specialist

Salary:$21.76 to $32.64 (based upon experience)

Duties:

Role:

A Payments Specialist works to achieve the Credit Union's mission and member promise statements. Is responsible for coordination of electronic banking activities such as ACH transactions, wire transfers, EFT transactions, and mobile deposits.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the accurate processing of payment transactions and services, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
    Reviews, posts, and reconciles daily ACH transactions, and/or checking transactions.
    Investigates and resolves payment discrepancies or issues, working closely with other departments to ensure resolution. Conducts detailed research to troubleshoot and resolve member or transaction issues promptly. Takes ownership of resolving errors and discrepancies in a timely manner.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

1. Perform assigned responsibilities meeting all deadlines with no errors that result in losses to the credit union, in accordance with established departmental guidelines.
2. Increase efficiency and/or quality of service by recommending procedural changes as required, ensuring compliance at all times.
3. Identify member and/or internal problems through research and resolve them in a timely, accurate manner.
4. Provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members and associates.

Additional Desired Attributes:

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills 10-key proficiency; working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; must be able to operate general office equipment including calculator, copy machine, telephone, etc.
